On January 12, 2024, the 2023 Secretary-General’s Work Meeting of the China Steel Structure Association was held in Harbin. Yue Qingrui, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the China Steel Structure Association, Liu Yi, executive vice president, Zhang Sumei, deputy secretary-general, Shi Gang, Wang Houxin, Dai Changhe, Liu Ting, vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology, dean of the School of Civil Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology, Steel - Nearly 60 people including Wang Yuyin, Chairman of the Concrete Combination Branch, secretary generals of each branch and other relevant persons in charge attended this meeting. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Li Qingwei. This conference received strong support from Harbin Institute of Technology.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Yue Qingrui congratulated the convening of this meeting and expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Harbin Institute of Technology, the organizer, and the secretaries-general who participated in the meeting. President Yue highly affirmed the achievements of the association over the past year, and also gave important guidance on this year's work deployment and development direction.

On behalf of Harbin Institute of Technology, Vice President Liu Ting extended a warm welcome to all the guests present at the meeting and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the association for its long-term support. The Metal and Composite Structure Research Center of the School of Civil Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology has been committed to the research of composite structures and steel structures for more than 40 years and has made outstanding scientific research achievements. President Liu said that Harbin Institute of Technology will continue to join hands with the China Steel Structure Association to gather momentum and go all out to promote new industrialization, lead the development of green, low-carbon and intelligent construction in the industry, and serve the country's high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.

2024 is the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the China Steel Structure Association. Executive Vice President Liu Yi has made detailed arrangements for the association's 40th anniversary. The 40th anniversary celebration of the association is the key work of this year. It is of great significance to publicize the development history of the association, continue the cultural inheritance of the association, and further enhance the influence of the association in the industry.

During the work discussion session, Wang Yuefeng from the General Office of the Association Secretariat introduced the use of the conference registration system. The conference registration system has been basically perfected after three years of gradual application and continuous debugging by the Secretariat. The use of this system will further improve the efficiency of the conference. Zhang Xiaoyun of the Finance Department interpreted the latest regulations on the association’s financial work, and Xie Na, Director of the Industry Affairs Department, exchanged views on issues related to member management.

Subsequently, the deputy secretary-general of the association and the heads of each branch spoke actively and expressed their opinions. They put forward practical and effective suggestions for the development of the association from multiple angles and levels, and provided suggestions for the progress of the industry.

This meeting adheres to the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, emphasizes the implementation of the party's overall leadership over industry associations, further strengthens branch management, promotes branch cooperation and exchanges, and makes positive contributions to the high-quality development of the steel structure industry in light of the development needs of the steel structure industry.
