On the morning of September 3, the three-day 2024 First Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Exhibition was grandly opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. From the afternoon of September 3 to the morning of September 4, the China Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Hundred Enterprises Forum was held in the same venue. Representatives from upstream and downstream related units of the steel structure building industry shared their views and experiences on the development of the steel structure building industry, gathering wisdom and strength to plan for the future together.

At the meeting, He Wenbo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, Chen Yiming, Chairman of the China Real Estate Association, Hao Jiping, Chairman of the China Building Metal Structure Association, Ni Jiangbo, Vice Chairman of the China Building Energy Conservation Association, Jing Wan, Vice Chairman of the China Construction Industry Association, Pang Zongzhan, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Survey and Design Association, Li Qingwei, Secretary General of the China Steel Structure Association, and Gao Feng, Secretary General of the China Formwork and Scaffolding Association, delivered speeches. Xia Nong, Vice Chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, hosted the speech session and made a keynote report. Su Changyong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Iron and Steel Association and Director of the General Department (Finance and Assets Department) and International Cooperation Department; Fan Tiejun, Deputy Secretary General of the China Iron and Steel Association, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Metallurgical News; Zhang Yongjie, Executive Director of the China Iron and Steel Association; Xiao Bangguo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President (in charge of work) of the Metallurgical Industry Planning Institute, attended the forum. Wang Bin, Director of the Planning and Development Department of the China Iron and Steel Association, and Li Quangong, Deputy Director, hosted the enterprise promotion sessions on the afternoon of September 3 and the morning of September 4, respectively.

Chen Yiming introduced that in recent years, although the real estate industry has encountered some problems and the development speed has changed, the development of steel structure buildings is still on the rise. In the next step, the development of steel structure buildings should take improving the quality of steel structure houses as the development goal, and should focus on three aspects: tightening all links in the industrial chain, developing supporting materials, and actively promoting prefabricated construction methods.

Hao Jiping said that at present, various conditions for my country to vigorously develop steel structure buildings have matured. Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goal, the development of steel structure buildings is not only an important way for the construction industry to achieve the "dual carbon" goal, but also an important measure for the steel industry to optimize the consumption structure of construction steel and adapt to the requirements of green and low-carbon development. He hopes that the upstream and downstream industrial chains of steel structure buildings, such as design, production, and construction, will work closely together to promote the high-quality development of steel structure buildings.
